OpusCapita local sites: Torun
At OpusCapita, we work seamlessly together as one firm to digitize our customers. With locations in 6 countries, we make our joint knowledge, experience, and global network available to our customers. With this blog article, we are to start a blog series introducing you to our local branches. Let’s start with the largest one in terms of headcount.
As a Torun city local patriot, I must however start with a few words about this beautiful city. This medium-sized city (the population is over 202.000 citizens + 20.000 students) is one of the oldest ones in Poland, with the first settlement dated back to the 8th century and later having been expanded in 1233 by the Teutonic Knights. Torun is largely known for 3 things: Nicolas Copernicus, gingerbread & OpusCapita Business Network Messaging Platform 😉 The city earned UNESCO status for its preserved street pattern and well maintained 13th-century brick buildings. This mix of culture, science, architecture and amazing history attracts thousands of tourists every year.
Historically, OpusCapita has been present in Torun since 2008. In December 2019 we moved to the new premises. We currently have approximately 90 employees and we are still growing. The average age of our staff is 31 years old and we range from 22 to 54.
OpusCapita is an equal opportunities employer and we ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favorable treatment on the grounds of gender, age, disability, nationality, or sexual orientation. When we check our statistics, we can see that the women’s ratio in the company is approx. 50% and it is even more when we check the women ratio in managerial positions! It makes me very proud especially because we are operating in the IT sector typically dominated by men.
We look for new talents, so you are welcome to check out the open positions. We have roles that are a great starting point for students and graduates and we also offer possibilities for experienced professionals like e.g. developers to grow their careers in Research & Development. We are building the key competence center for the new technology, which offers Business Network solutions to our customers. These are our business areas and teams:
● Customer Service
● Platform Operations & Support
● Business Platforms
● Professional Services
● R&D Business Network Portal
● Business Network Product Management
● Finance
● Business Controlling
● HR
● IT
In OpusCapita, we even love Mondays. We have a special team that specializes in anything and everything related to our well-being. Our Torun I love Monday’s team is very active and organizes summer parties, Christmas parties, coffee sessions, Halloween events, and whatever we see fit. The aim is to create an atmosphere where your ideas can flourish and really enjoy your work.
For our employees, the office is much more than just four walls, a bunch of desks, some laptops, and a coffee machine. It’s a space where people can do incredible work, get inspired, and meet friends. Since people spend a large amount of time at work, so naturally it becomes important to have an office environment that sparks well-being among employees. I’m proud and happy to say that’s how we all felt when moving to the new location at Kosciuszki street.
Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic started and we didn’t enjoy the new premise for long. After many months of being cooped up working from home, we will be really keen to return to our regular workspace. No wonder the Trust Index from the Great Place To Work survey has been constantly increasing over the past few years. I am especially touched to state Torun office employees are happy employees. Even though we are now working remotely, what makes OpusCapita a special place is a family feeling, teamwork, and caring about each other!
I will conclude with this positive touch for now. I can reveal Torun is not the only OpusCapita city with UNESCO heritage and with professionals working with the new OpusCapita technology, so stay tuned for the next one.
